Solid Waste Plan Review & Permitting

A permit to operate must be obtained for any Solid Waste Management Facility in Clark County.

The purchase of an existing solid waste management facility requires a new permit to operate. Prior to approving a change of ownership facilities must be brought into compliance with the current solid waste regulations.

Solid Waste Plan Review (SWPR) is the formal process to obtain approval to operate a facility for the management of solid waste in Clark County, Nevada.

Types of Solid Waste Management Facilities include the following:

  • Compost Plant
  • Landfill-Class I
  • Landfill-Class III
  • Materials Recovery Facility
  • Medical Waste Management Facility
  • Recycling Center
  • Solid Waste Storage Bin Facility
  • Transfer Station
  • Waste Energy/Fuel Facility
  • Waste Grease Facility
  • Waste Tire Management Facility
