Flu Vaccine

Schedule your immunization appointment

The Health District offers flu vaccine at all Health District clinic locations each fall. Check individual public health center locations for hours of operation. No-cost flu clinics are also offered at various locations in the community throughout flu season.

An annual flu vaccine is the best way to reduce your chance of getting the flu. The vaccine takes about two weeks for antibodies to develop and offers protection from seasonal flu for about a year.

Getting immunized as soon as vaccine is available ensures that protective antibodies are in place before flu activity is at its highest. You should get a flu vaccine by the end of October. However, you can be vaccinated anytime during the flu season.

What is Seasonal Flu?
Is it the Cold or Flu?

The viruses included in the vaccine change each year based on the strains expected to circulate during flu season. Flu vaccine will not make you sick.

For more information about the flu visit the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention’s Influenza (Flu) webpage.

Parental Consent: Non-custodial adults may accompany a child, however, written consent must be provided to the health district from the parent or guardian at the time of service. See the Parental Consent for Immunization of a Minor Policy for more details.
